Emily Gasner, Executive Director

Emily Gasner has assisted hundreds of local microenterprises and small businesses access the capital, resources and support they need to grow and succeed. She was honored with the 2008 San Francisco District Small Business Administration’s Financial Services Champion of the Year Award and the 2009 Innovation in Technical Assistance Performance and Service Award from California Resources and Training (CARAT)/California Economic Development Lending Initiative (CEDLI).
Prior to Working Solutions, Emily worked at the Friends of the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women where she planned development and awards events.
Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Women’s Studies from Georgetown University and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco. She serves as the Chair of Women Advancing Microfinance Northern California (WAM NorCal) and the Co-Chair of the San Francisco Economic Development Alliance (SFEDA) and volunteers for Georgetown University Admissions interviewing prospective Bay Area students.
Sandy Mackovich, Business Development Officer

Sandy Mackovich joined Working Solutions in 2008. She brings extensive commercial finance and lending experience to the organization. In her free time, Sandy is a dog trainer and previously owned her own microbusiness: a dog training, dog walking and pet sitting business in San Francisco. Sandy is active in her local community and serves on the Board of Directors for two nonprofit organizations: Pets Unlimited and the San Francisco PFLAG Chapter.

Agnes Cheung, Business Development Officer

Agnes Cheung joined Working Solutions in May 2009. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Managerial Economics from University of California, Davis. Prior to Working Solutions, Agnes worked in the automotive financing industry for 7 years and has extensive expertise in consumer and wholesale lending and credit analysis. Agnes holds a Certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council. Agnes was born in Hong Kong and she is fluent in Cantonese. In her free time, she loves to travel, play badminton and explore various restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Lorena Roman, Business Development Officer

Lorena Roman joined the Working Solutions team in September 2010. She previously worked at Women's Initiative helping Bay Area microentrepreneurs obtain training to manage both new and existing businesses. Prior to Working Solutions, Lorena worked in the Community Planning and Development Division of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Lorena is fluent in Spanish and has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Santa Clara University.

Kelly Lovlien, Marketing/Operations Manager

Kelly Lovlien joined the Working Solutions team in December 2010. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon and is a candidate for an MBA. Prior to Working Solutions, Kelly served as a Trade Assistant for the United States Foreign Commercial Service helping small businesses export their products aboard. From 2006 to 2009, she co-owned a clothing and design business specializing in customized t-shirts. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys running, painting and exploring the Bay Area.
Tammy Magid, Client Intake Specialist

Tammy Magid joined Working Solutions in 2010. She brings extensive business development, lending, and relationship management to the organization. Prior to Working Solutions, Tammy worked in the banking, staffing and internet industries. She is currently a Masters candidate in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University, where she is pursuing coursework in mHealth, knowledge management, and international development. She is deeply passionate about improving health outcomes in Africa. In her free time, she enjoys working out, traveling abroad, and exploring her culinary talents in the kitchen.
